Creepy Dishes by Samuel

"Samuel!" Mum yells out.
"What?"
"Come here."
"Why Mum?"
"Just get to the kitchen now!"
"Fine."
"Do the dishes now!"
"Do I have to?"
"Yes!"
"Ok, in a minute."
I quickly rush to my sisters room.  As I get there I start to get frightened to open the door. What if she beats me up, she could kill me!!! I slowly and carefully open the door.
"Can you do the dishes for me?"
"No!"
"I will pay you?"
"How much?"
"5?"
"No."
"10?"
"Bit higher."
"15 max, ok?"

So Caitlin does the dishes slowly. As I get to the computer I find out it's not going. Oh no! I could done the dishes myself!

The Mould. By Kaleb

I crept into the kitchen and opened the big cupboard door. The handle was so high because it was not designed for me.  I reached in and grabbed a bag. I took one look at the green tinge on the contents and noticed something was wrong. I'll have to use my special tools for this job.
First I'll need to activate them. I tapped the side of my nose to turn on the mould detecter. I held each piece of hazardous waste to the mould detecter and smelt them. No, all these are safe. All except this one. Wait this one is mouldy too and this one. Oh no, the mould is spreading fast. Now the whole lot is mouldy. I ran over to the bin as fast as I could. I put the whole loaf of bread in the bin.
My equipment must be faulty. I'll have to see the Doctor.

The shower from hell. By Kennedy.

As I crawled like a zombie into the bathroom I turned on the shower and after a while I got into the hot, steamy cubical.  I suddenly woke up completely.  I reached for the shampoo, I felt warmth.  I thought maybe its just the warmth of the hot water in the shower. So I carried on, as I rubbed the shampoo into my hair, the water got cooler then it went freezing.

I quickly grabbed the side of the shower, my hand latched onto a razor, it sliced my hand.
There was blood pouring out of my cold, pale hand.
It wouldn't stop bleeding but the blood slowed down a little bit.
I'd never had a shower like this, they're never bad.
I started to shave my legs, I was slowly dragging the razor up to the top of my leg.
It was grating off skin layer by layer, like finely sliced pieces of cheese.
All I could see was the flesh, muscle and fat of my leg.

As I scrambled out of the shower, dried myself and put on my dressing gown, I realised I was just imagining it.
None of it was actually real.
I must not have woken up properly, I think I was still dreaming.

Dinner Plate By James

I stab the tomato and oh the gush that attacks the knife.
No the cheese fell on the floor, such a waste.
I'm Dead!
Now the dog has the ham and the cat has the dog.

And now my life is over. There's a two face, fifty foot tall zombie with slobber running down from her mouth and its coming to me!  I lift the knife, it opens its mouth and SLAM!  Its fiery fist pounds the bench and my knife moves at three hundred and sixty miles per second cutting the food.

It screams...
''Where's my food you slug!''
"Well I'm sorry my darling sister."

Counting Down! By Leah

Tick,Tick, Tick.
The noise drummed in my ears.
Tick,Tick,Tick.
It was almost as though I was transfixed. My eyes were glued to the numbers as they changed slowly.
My mind raced as there was only one minute left. Thirty seconds, inside my head my brain felt like it was about to burst.
My palms were dripping with sweat.
3, 2, 1.
I screamed out with terror. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"Leah get up and turn that alarm off.''
"Yes Mum."
It was the start of a brand new day.

How is ORGANISATION helping us with our BP Challenges?

"It has been good because we have been organising what each person will do during the time we have."  Abilene

"Organisation for our team is important because if you need tape and your workspace is messy, you're wasting time trying to find it.  It can also affect your group working and can start or stop an argument.  It helps you to stay on task and not get distracted."
Matt

"It is important for us because then we know what we are doing ad when we need to do it."
Samuel

"If we weren't organised it would be a mess.  We keep track of time and keep a watch on how many resources we have left.  We decide who does what so each person has something to do which helps us to complete each task."
Leah

"It helps us to keep everyone on task and to get our challenges done.  We organise our time well."
Connor

"We organise all of our gear, we think of a plan, we get together and do the challenges as a team."
Morgan

"We can get everything finished in time.  If we weren't organised we wouldn't know what we were doing.  It makes doing the challenges easier."
Kennedy

"It helps us get it done faster and smoother and makes us work as a team better, even when some of our stuff didn't work."
Jenna

"We get things done on time and up to the right standard."
Rhys

"Organisation is important for our team because it helps us make sure we have done everything that is needed.  It helps us build our teamwork skills."

The Long Lift!

Our second BP Challenge focused on building a device that could lift a 1.5kg bottle up 3.2m.  We used 3 sheets of newspaper, tape and a plastic bag.  Points were given for the fastest lift and the level of teamwork our groups displayed.

After the challenge we had to reflect about our ORGANISATION and make a list of what the word means to us.

RNZAF Central Band Concert

On Tuesday we had the opportunity to attend a concert performed by the Central Band of the RNZAF.  We travelled to Palmerston North to the concert which took place at the Regent Theatre.  James was one of the students selected to help 'conduct' the band during one song!

Run, Jump, Throw: Session 3

The focus this time was on lots of throwing: discus, hammer and shotput!

Run.....Jump....Throw

We have begun training for athletics and for the next three weeks we are lucky enough to take part in the 'Run, Jump, Throw' programme.

Organisation......have we got it?

Our school is looking at the concept of 'Organisation' for the entire year.  Throughout this term we are exploring 'organisation' through BP Technology Challenges.  We are having to organise our teams of 3 into specific roles and after each challenge, we will be reviewing how our organisation and understanding of it, has increased.

The first challenge involved making a Nomadic Shelter.  A tent-like structure that could be built, dismantled and rebuilt in a different location that would easily fit 2 of our team members inside it.  Here is a photo of the winning design.

Meet the motley crew!
