Can you say 'Zentangles'?????

Here are a few examples of our second Zentangle art piece.  This time we had to explore a variety of repeating patterns which had to appear in all four sections of the paper.

Zentangles

All of our Art this term is going to be based on Zentangles.  A Zentangle is an abstract drawing created using repetitive patterns.  It is usually constructed within a certain shape.

Our Art folders have been transformed with a very basic Zentangle that has helped to highlight our colourful name.  Here is a small sample of our finished pieces..........

Charcoal and Pastel Sea-life

During last term we completed another art piece based on sea-life.  We chose a sea-creature and practised enlarging it before using charcoal to add shading and definition.  For our background, we had to show movement in the water through wave designs - using pastel to add the colour.

Squiggle Line Art & Arm Wrestling

Thank goodness for Pinterest!!!

Here is an idea that Mrs Young saw on Pinterest........squiggle line art!

If you think drawing the lines looks complicated, you should have a go at colouring them all in!  We have to use coloured pencils in a way that shows depth of colour which helps to make the shapes look more 3D.

Check out Mrs Young's ingenious way of giving us a rest between bursts of colouring in!

ARM WRESTLING!!!!!!

Once we've finished the art pieces, we'll post a few more on here, so watch this space!!!
